The first member from the new piccolo top series!
This top is rather small, close to a Bach 10 1/2C or a Schilke 11AX. It is my favourite piccolo trumpet top so far, and works very well with rather big backbores. The combination of a small diameter top with a bigger backbore, gives very accurate precision and security in the highest register.
Intonation is very fine and projection is so much better than any standard Bach or even a special Schilke piccolo mouthpiece!
5C-G4C
This "two piece top" is consisting of two separate parts; the 5C rim and the G4C cup.
The G4C cup is a very nice C shaped piccolo mouthpiece cup. It suits perfectly for all the standard piccolo repertoire and it has more volume than a Bach 10 1/2C, Schilke 11AX or our BV10S top.
The 5C rim is a copy of a Bach 5C rim and has (for me personally) the perfect diameter size for piccolo playing. The rim contour is what you can expect from a Bach rim, very pleasant and round.
5C-GA4
This "two piece top" is consisting of two seperate parts; the 5C rim and the G4C cup.
The GA4 cup does not much of introducing. The cup was made in collaboration with Maurice André back in the ´80, and has been best selling all over the world. The cup is characterised by it´s "sparkle" in the sound and uplifting projection, often needed for highly performance piccolo playing. Great results when playing A piccolo.
The 5C rim is a copy of a Bach 5C rim and has (for me personally) the perfect diameter size for piccolo playing. The rim contour is what you can expect from a Bach rim, very pleasant and round.
I use the Warburton 10*, 11* and 12* backbores with this top. In the videos (see above and on the youtube channel) I use the 10* backbore.
Using 11* and 12*, the sound gets broader and bigger, but the amount of air you need, of course, also increases and the endurance gets more challenging.
